Chi Omega Psi Alumnae,
I hope you all have had a fun and relaxing summer!
It has been an exciting summer for Psi Chapter in Fayetteville. In case you haven’t heard, our very own Maggie Benton (PC’13) competed for Miss Arkansas in June and won the hearts of the judges! Maggie will be competing for the title of Miss America on September 10, 2017, and all of us at 940 West Maple will be cheering loudly as she represents our state as well as our sorority with her well-known dignity and grace.
As the founding chapter of Chi Omega, our beloved home is in the “Spotlight” of the August issue of At Home in Arkansas Magazine (pg.30). Since the founding Chi Omega house is listed on the National Registrar of Historic Places, the renovation has beautifully retained its original integrity. Grab a copy of the magazine from your local store as a wonderful keepsake of our gorgeous house or read about it here.
XO has been on the go! We have had five active members interning this summer in the U.S. Capitol. In addition to that, numerous members have participated in fabulous study abroad programs in Italy, Ireland, New Zealand and other countries. All of our girls have been pursuing their dreams this summer and the lessons learned from Chi Omega have helped every step of the way.
While we have all been on our own adventures this summer, we are ready to be reunited at the Mothership!! Move-in for the 92 girls living in the house began on Tuesday, August 1st and Work Week starts shortly after that on Friday, August 4th. President Beau Broyles, Recruitment Chair Mckenna Whitaker, and the entire rush team have been working hard to prepare an amazing recruitment for the 1,703 girls that will be participating. Bid Day is on Saturday, August 19th. The celebration will begin at the Chi Omega Greek Theatre at 10 a.m. and move to the house where we will welcome the brand new class of sisters!
From Chicken Finger Fridays, Razorback games and Make-A-Wish fundraisers, the Fall of 2017 at Chi Omega promises to be another semester full of countless laughs and “owlsome” memories.
Lastly we would like to thank all of our talented advisors, the House Corporation, our dedicated alumni and our dear House Mom, Mom Jan, for their support and guidance in continuing the Psi Chapter lasting legacy. If you are on “The Hill” please know that you are welcome to stop by to see our treasured home. |
